How we protect your data and privacy on GeCoMusic.com.

Data Collection

GeCoMusic.com only accesses public data from your Discogs profile (username and collection details) via official APIs. We never ask for or store your Discogs password.

Authentication

Login is handled securely by Replit Auth. We do not see or store your personal login credentials.

Storage

Your collection data is stored on Replit's secure servers. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

Guest Mode

If you use Guest Access, your temporary data is automatically wiped after logout or 24 hours. Public blog contributions (comments, ratings and reactions) are the exception: they stay visible permanently with the name provided.

Your Control

You can disconnect your account or request data deletion at any time.

Data Deletion

You can request complete deletion of all your data by contacting us via email. We will process the request within 48 hours.

Cookie Policy

GeCoMusic.com uses essential technical cookies for site functionality (authentication session, language preferences). We do not use profiling or third-party advertising cookies. Technical cookies are strictly necessary and do not require consent under EU ePrivacy regulations.

Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679), you have the right to: access your personal data, rectification of inaccurate data, erasure ("right to be forgotten"), restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing. To exercise these rights, contact us via email.

Data Retention & Access Logs

We retain your collection data for as long as your account is active. Access logs (IP address, date/time, registration email) are retained for 12 months for security and legal compliance purposes. In case of investigations by competent authorities, this data may be provided as required by law.

Location Data & Discogs Collection

In the barter system, your geographic location (set in your profile) is used exclusively to suggest partner record stores as safe meeting points. We do not share your exact location with other users without your consent. Your Discogs-imported collection is visible to other users only if you have chosen to make it public in your profile settings. Private messages exchanged between users during barter negotiations are protected and not accessible to third parties.
